About Us

PASC (Periyar Ambedkar Study Circle) America, an independent organization started by a group of like minded free thinkers of Indian origin began on April 14th 2017. It is an independent body registered under the Constitution of the United States of America.

PASC America has been spreading the thoughts of two of the greatest leaders from modern India - Thanthai Periyar and Babasaheb Ambedkar in the hopes that their principles bring rational and social thoughts among the younger generation. While it is aimed at reaching people around the world, its primary goal is to mark its presence in America.

As an organization PASC:
1. Studies and discusses the principles of Periyar and Ambedkar
2. Studies literature and organizes programs on rationalism
3. Studies about the different kinds of systems of oppression present in the world
4. Studies social issues

PASC conducts a monthly conference call that includes a prominent guest speaker from India. The conference covers various topics like rationalism, social justice, women empowerment, welfare of oppressed people to name a few. In addition to these calls, PASC also conducts physical meetings across the US and Canada to celebrate the birthdays of eminent leaders by conducting various events, competitions and seminars. These meetings also are a platform to recognize various social activists from India and around the world and includes an award function acknowledging their many efforts.

PASC also has a monthly book discussion forum and books involving varied topics are explored and analyzed. All are welcome to take part in these reviews. A bilingual (Tamil and English) online magazine named “The Common SENSE” was started in January 2018 and currently reaches over 25,000 people every month. While having a variety of articles, it also focuses on spreading the thoughts of Periyar and Ambedkar topics related to Social Justice, rationalism, and eradicating caste system and sanaadhana dharma.

As a principle, PASC neither believes nor endorses any kind of religious bodies and does not participate in any gathering related to any religion or cult.
